Epsilon Brother Gene Derricotte was a trailblazing African-American athlete at the University of Michigan. He played a pivotal role in the consecutive national championship football teams of 1947 and 1948 while simultaneously earning degrees in both pharmacy and dentistry. Beyond his impressive academic and athletic achievements, Derricotte also had a distinguished military career as an aviator with the legendary Tuskegee Airmen. Sadly, he passed away on March 31 in San Antonio, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and impact generations.
