Each EAC Committee is asked to create a plan outlining their purpose, goals, and methods or approach to governance. The idea is to align each committee in support of the Board of Directors vision for the EAC. The Communications Committee was the first to create such a plan, present it to the Board and have it approved. In short, it this the mission of the Communications Committee to establish and support vehicles that facilitate all communication among Epsilon alumni and to optimize these vehicles according to the type and purpose of the communications. The Comms Committee is not the gatekeeper, bottleneck or arbiter of content. Each committee and board chairman or delegate is responsible for creating, posting and moderating their own content, posts, etc.
- 1. EAC Web Site: uni-directional, outbound communication of news, announcements and decisions from the Board and Committee Chairmen.
- 2. Slack: social networking and bi-directional communication among our membership; essentially a message board or forum for arranging discussions by topic or interest.
- 3. Email: concise, specific calls for action. EAC will not send long information-only emails that do not require action. If you something from EAC in your inbox, it should be very clear that your action is requested and by when.
We encourage all brothers to review the approved Communication Management Plan. We’ll do our best to keep it updated as committee assignments are revised in coming months.
